In-Studio Mischief

Last week my best friend came down from Portland, Oregon, so we hit up the Huntington Beach Photo Studio (a shared space with Prince Productions, whom I work for) for some in-studio mischief. It just so happens my mate is an aspiring photographer as well, so ideas and a workflow came relatively natural (despite a two-hour lighting delay). We messed around with Portraiture and Still-Life, came out with a few cool things—some not so cool—but above all-else had a great time shooting together. I look forward to future collaborations with him, and in the meantime you can check out his work here.

Here's a few things we captured that day.

A Venture to Israel

I recently returned from a visit to Israel as part of a Taglit Birthright: Mayanot group. The experience was of such personal reward, and my tenderness for it grows with each passing day. I intend to soon write a sort of accompanying monologue, but I find words would only diminish my thoughts. As Stephen King once put it: words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. That said, I hope in this case these photos will be worth more than a thousand words. This is a small collection of some of my favorite photographs taken on my journey. All shots taken with my Canon 6D, 35mm f/2.
